Reconstruction in New Orleans

The devastation of New Orleans by Hurricane Katrina was was witnessed first-hand by three of Plainfield Fire Department's finest, as they spent a week helping to rebuild the home of a New Orleans firefighter. Lieutenant Jeff Hawkins, Firefighter Brian Meyerholtz and Equipment Operator John Denemy went south with an equipment trailer full of tools and material as part of a program organized by the New Orleans fire department that is bringing in teams of firefighters from all over the country to help with the rebuilding of the city.
