Run A Mile For A Child-  2007

Each spring, the Plainfield Township Fire Department hosts a certified 5-K run/walk- ”RUN A MILE FOR A CHILD”- and a pancake breakfast at Station #1 on Belmont Avenue.  All proceeds from this event go to benefit the Spectrum Health Regional Burn Center, including "Kid's Burn Camp" and West Michigan FIREmatch- an intervention, referral and educational program for children.

This year, it was a grey, damp day, but those conditions did not deter two hundred plus runners, walkers, and their supporters from turning out for this year's race.  Plainfield Fire Department volunteers cooked up a mess of pancakes and a great time was had by all.

But most important was the financial support we were able to send to Spectrum Health's Regional Burn unit.  Many thanks go to the tireless organizers, volunteers, and, of course, those that participated in this year's run.
